Manikbond village, Karimganj district

A pioneer project in health, training village health workers, promoting health education, setting up mobile clinic and medical camps. In 2002 the International Medical Association, Ernakulam, supported by AIFO, an international NGO, started a medical project in the Manikbond village with a medical doctor and a social worker. The program started with a bamboo shed, later to be replaced by a small building. A dispensary building with maternity facilities was constructed in 2007.

Education. In 2009 a qualified English teacher also joined in this project to work in St. Joseph’s High school, Manikbond, thus improving the standard of education.
